The Curtis Whitelock Sportsmanship Award, created in 1999, is to be awarded to the DIGLIT participant who best represents the ideals of sportsmanship — ethical behavior, fair play and integrity — and who finds pure satisfaction in the play of the game and in the enhancement of friendships.

As the founder of DIGLIT in 1994, Curtis dreamed of bringing an IGBO Annual Tournament to Denver — a dream that was realized in 2000.
